(Previous Mini-track homepage: http://geek.ba.ttu.edu/cgi-bin/AMCIS03_ITAC/index.cgi)

Many countries in Asia-Pacific area have embraced information technology as the essential driving force for their economic development. As the World Bank predicted that economic development in Asia-Pacific would be faster than other regions in coming years. Empowered by the fast growing economy many countries in this region have launched ambitious strategic plans in IT/IS and they have been aggressively deregulated their IT and telecommunication industry recently. These in turn refuel the development of the IT industry and promote IS applications. As globalization becomes the world trend, Asia-Pacific area will provide many business opportunities in IT/IS. For example, many US Fortune 100 corporations have outsourced their IT/IS development projects to some countries in Asia-Pacific. This mini-track intends to provide a forum for researchers to study and discuss IT/IS issues from the perspective of Asia-Pacific.
